Why is Entrepreneurship Education Critical for Kids in Pakistan?

In our schools today, there is little talk of ideas, savings, entrepreneurship education or investments. The word “business” is usually paired with Malik Riaz or Sadruddin Hashwani. Almost no opportunity is there for children to gain an insight into entrepreneurship.

The icing on the cake is real when our Schools are fantastic at teaching skills to pass the exams, but the focus is taken away from “survival” skills that should benefit our kids in the real world. Without them, consider your child forever crippled, unable to survive in the uncertain future. According to the World Economic Forum half of today’s work activities could be automated by 2055, creating entirely new roles and challenges for the future workforce.

While in Pakistan, there will be an increasing number of unsuccessful candidates who will be turned down because of their lack of 21st-century skills. There is already an increase in demand for such skills.   So, the most pressing question of the so-called modern times should be on, How to rescue the future of our children? It is simple. Let them understand entrepreneurship.

According to a 2014 EU Report on Entrepreneurial Skills, “entrepreneurship is an individual’s ability to turn ideas into action. It is seen as vital to promoting innovation, competitiveness, and economic growth”. Entrepreneurship teaches kids to collaborate and work with a team, speak in public and prepare an effective presentation. It is carefully blended into classroom activities and teach a child to collect and analyze data, use social media as an advocacy tool, and solve real, complex problems.

Over and above, it gives a child confidence to use curiosity as a tool and creativity to find an innovative approach to difficult problems.   Seeing the trends and profit, Schools in Pakistan are hasty to incorporate entrepreneurship education in their curriculum. However, they almost target nothing of the critical skills and burden the parents with superfluous fees. The worst among them come with the evil plan to separate entrepreneurship from STEM. However, STEM starts and ends with Entrepreneurship. If your child does not know to sell his/her robot, you bought him the espresso machine but no understanding to use it.

The Creative Schools – TCS, on the other hand, seamlessly blends in entrepreneurship with STEM-based curriculum. It gives a child an experience, which does not come heavy on your pocket and all that with the help of Pakistan’s top entrepreneurs and businesswomen.

TCS has a dedicated forum called The Innovative Entrepreneurship – IEP, which is Pakistan’s first comprehensive program that forms an integral part of the curriculum. It introduces students to the world of business and the impact they can make through their ideas while learning basic business terms and concepts. We all understand very well that technology becomes more ingrained in the everyday lives of our children. And as a result, they are expected to be creative thinkers, active collaborators, and problem solvers. At TCS, we teach all of these essential skills of the 21st-century to make your child stand out in a highly competitive job market.

We have partnered up with well-known international organizations, which will initially train your child to improve his critical reasoning and presented gradually with more complex ideas of profit and loss, marketing strategy, and negotiation. To encourage your child to design his own business plans, he will be offered every year an opportunity to participate in an Entrepreneurship Summit. As the future workforce is more receptive to independent positions, TCS is keen on making your child a future leader as well as a successful entrepreneur who will be an inspiration for other young people in the world.
